This year, the Junior Auxiliary of Tangipahoa has had the privilege of partnering with Lynhaven Retreat Center in Hammond, Louisiana, a beacon of hope for women and children who have faced unimaginable challenges. Our project, Lynding A Hand, is a labor of love, dedicated to empowering them with the tools they need to break free from the cycle of homelessness, addiction, human trafficking, abuse, and mental illness.
Our members have been humbled by the opportunity to share their skills and knowledge with the residents of Lynhaven, providing life-changing education and practical guidance that extends far beyond the classroom. We've partnered with local professionals and businesses to help our friends develop essential skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-awareness. But our impact goes beyond just education - we're committed to building relationships and providing companionship during some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives.
